@dedicated.to.past: It's October 3rd! Mean Girls (2004) was originally inspired by Rosalind Wiseman's non-fiction self-help book Queen Bees and Wannabes, which analyzed high school social cliques and female bullying. Written by Tina Fey and Directed by Mark S. Waters, the teen comedy brought together an iconic ensemble cast featuring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert. Interestingly, Lindsay Lohan originally auditioned for the role of Regina George, but producers ultimately cast her as Cady Heron to preserve her public image following her success in Freaky Friday. Although produced on a modest $17 million budget, the film grossed over $130 million worldwide and transcended the teen genre to become a defining pop culture phenomenon, spawning a hit Broadway musical adaptation and a lasting legacy as one of the most celebrated comedies of the 2000s. #october3rd #meangirls #cadyheron #lindsaylohan #viral
