@nars_je: As a new nurse here sa US, I am still on my orientation phase. I always stay lowkey, don’t want to be taken as “know it all” “arrogant”. Pero as a Filipino nurse, this is a normal daily grind.🥹🇵🇭 Starting IVs on hard sticks without ultrasound. NGT insertion on an unsedated patient who somehow find ways to pull it out every hour. 😭 Inserting Foley catheters on your own while still maintaining aseptic technique. Leading code blues while waiting for the RODs. Helping with difficult intubations when everyone else already tried. And sometimes handling 6 ICU patients while also being the charge nurse. Looking back, I realize just how much those experiences shaped me. The practice, protocols, and guidelines here in the US are definitely more structured and strict—and I’m grateful to be learning and growing in a different healthcare system. But one thing I’ll always carry with me: The exposure and experience I gained in the Philippines is GOLDEN. 🇵🇭✨ It taught me resourcefulness. It taught me clinical judgment. It taught me to stay calm when things get chaotic. And most importantly, it taught me to keep showing up even when the shift was HARD. Just grateful that my Filipino nursing experience gave me a foundation I can bring with me wherever I go. 🥹 Filipino nurses… you know exactly what I mean. 🇵🇭🩺❤️

is it safe to say that Philipines is a great training ground for nurses. It is not by choice but by circumstance given the limitted resources and healthcare system in the Philippines. Filipino nurses are just built different.

Pasalamat naman kayo sa amin (mga pinagpraktisan), na ilang beses na tinurukan ng karayom sa kamay kasi di natamaan yong ugat. (Walang palag2 kasi public lang kaya namin.)

UK Pinoy nurse here! The doctor ordered all of these and was expecting to do most of it himself since you actually need proper training and competencies for each one. But when he came back from a ward call… nagawa ko na lahat, all in one go. 😂 He was SHOOKT! Hahaha So yeaaa, ibang level talaga ang bilib nila sa Pinoy nurses! 💪🏼🩺
