the wire speed doesnt adjust the volts.only in pulse does it auto adjust

That’s basic 101 unless using synergistic system.

on most older machines, wire feed knob literally just controls how fast or slow the drive roll motors spin.

Come on 20 years and your just getting it now wtf o ya been welding over 40 years and still welding I make pressure tanks both ss and carbon my wire speed is around 600 and my amperage is unlimited as much as I need and then some .so u can weld using spray and u will get full penetration all the time and almost no spatter.so good luck and ya I have many tickets

I think of voltage as in how “wet” the bead is, more voltage, wetter bead, if that makes sense

I’ve never been taught about any welding. I just bought some welders and start using them. 😂 It’s so frustrating, because I don’t know what I’m doing and STILL barely understand what you said. 🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️

You’re partially right, but still wrong. There are machines that can affect the distance. There is also your sharp/soft setting that affects how wide the current arks out. You’re also forgetting about the difference between short circuit and globular welding.

The fact that people don’t know this, and they have welded blows my mind

Yeah well, your machine maybe 20 years old different than most machines these days but what you’re saying is not a thing on the machines we use
