@tiktok_guy22: This campaign ad shocked people because the two candidates were literally running against each other. 😳 During the 2020 Utah governor's race, Spencer Cox and Chris Peterson appeared together in a commercial urging voters to reject political division and treat one another with respect. Instead of attacking each other, the two candidates acknowledged their disagreements while emphasizing something that felt increasingly rare in modern politics: civility. The ad quickly went viral because it broke nearly every expectation people had for a campaign commercial. Rather than focusing on why the other candidate was wrong, both men argued that democracy works best when opponents can debate ideas without viewing each other as enemies. The message resonated far beyond Utah, earning national attention during one of the most polarized election years in recent history. Two rivals. One election. A campaign ad about respect instead of division. #saynotoracism #diversity #republican #democrats #usa
