Stop Boiling Chicken. Make This Crispy Rice Cooker Chicken Instead .
Don’t just boil or stew chicken. This rice cooker soy sauce chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy
and tender inside, and packed with savory flavor. No oven, no frying, and no added water. Just
simple ingredients and one rice cooker. Perfect for easy weeknight dinners, meal prep, or family
meals. Once you try this method, you’ll never go back to plain chicken again.
 Ingredients
 ● 1/2 whole chicken (about 2 to 2.5 pounds)
 ● 1 teaspoon salt
 ● 1 tablespoon white vinegar
 Marinade
 ● 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
 ● 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
 ● 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
 ● 1 teaspoon peanut oil (or vegetable oil)
 Aromatics
 ● 4 to 5 slices fresh ginger
 ● 1/2 cup sliced green onions
 Making Process
 1. Rub the chicken skin with salt and white vinegar. Spread evenly to clean the skin and
remove odor. Rinse thoroughly under water.
 2. Pour boiling water over the chicken skin to blanch it briefly. This tightens the skin and
helps create a crispier texture later. Pat dry.
 3. In a bowl, mix light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, black pepper, and peanut oil. Stir well. Pour the marinade over the chicken. Rub evenly on all sides. Marinate for at least 25
minutes. For deeper flavor, marinate for up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
 5. Place ginger slices and green onions at the bottom of the rice cooker to prevent sticking
 and add aroma.
 6. Place the marinated chicken on top. Pour any remaining sauce over it. Do not add water.
 7. Close the lid and press the regular “Cook” setting.
 8. When finished, let it rest for a few minutes. Remove and let cool slightly before chopping
 into pieces.
