does anyone actually still think we are going vote our way out of this until politics fears the people why would they care about us its not like we do anything to get them a good job after or make them wealthy and if they screw us over what the consequences oh no you vote them out. now they have a 7 figure job to fall back on

Yes. To survive in politics, the party line (or lie more like it) destroys good people. We seem to have too many career politicians, so maybe there should be a rule that limits people to 20 years at any level of politician (except council).
