@build_in_public: Pay attention, Google has rules for using AI content on your website. This is a new passage that was added just yesterday on October 1st: "It is critical to manually factcheck and review all AI-generated content for accuracy and trustworthiness before publishing." This is on Google's rules for using AI content on your website: “Google Search's guidance on using generative AI content on your website” "Generative models don't retrieve facts, but predict a likely sequence of words based on their training data. Because of this, generative AI outputs may contain inaccuracies (also known as hallucinations)." This gives Google one more reason to take out websites that are putting out scaled AI content. The review also applies to "metadata like your page title, your meta description, like alt text for images." Google used to take the stance AI content was fine as long as it was not being used to manipulate search results. Now it is explicitly saying you need to review your AI content. #searchengineoptimization #seo #digitalmarketing #searchmarketing
Yet they’re happy to serve those inaccuracies top of the SERPs in AI overviews like they’re 100% accurate

But this is not really new anyway no? Factually correct content - AI or not would always signal trust, so it sounds to me like they're just "clarifying" that although AI is STILL fine it can't be slop

I had almost no experience when I started. Learning how to choose products, improve the store and understand customers made the biggest difference. My sales have now reached around 8,500.
