Soooooo much this! My LH suffered so much from his time in the service. But I’m so thankful for the years we had no matter what the 15 years we had looked like.

Incredible!!! I lost my parents and it's such a difficult thing to navigate. I will always grieve. It has left a void in a lot of ways BUT they are better than they ever were here and how beautiful is that?

I don’t believe in God but I do believe in an afterlife and I know he’s still around. And I feel the same way as you. I watched him struggle the entire 23 years we were together. Still working on being able to enjoy this life that is left in his absence but hoping to get there someday. Forever looking forward to us reuniting

I soooo understand what you’re saying…my husbands life was suffering from Day 1 unfathomable horrific suffering I’m soo happy for him but still trying to find my way with a shattered heart that misses him so desperately.

I feel the same way about Allyson, God blessed my with 36yrs with a wonderful angel. She suffered so much, but she is no longer hurting. Thank you for posting this, and it has helped me crystalize the blessing I now have, choosing to live and love.

I am soooooo proud of you. I strive to have my mindset be where yours is. I am 2-1/2 years into losing him. He was on the road working, with our beloved black lab, and an impaired (habitual OUI offender) driver hit them head on in a catastrophic crash at lunchtime. Lost them both in a split second and the drugged up driver lived. I am soooooo destroyed still this much later. I truly want to be where you are mentally, and I am the opposite, and I know he does not want that for me. I just want to get my time over with and be with them again. 💔

It sounds like my husband's life. The week before he passed away, he finally broke the silence of his illness. He came and sat beside me on the couch one night and he asked, "What did I do to deserve this?" The 4.5 months, from diagnosis to death, he went down viciously fast. He had never had pain but it seemed like once he was diagnosed, the pain came on within 2 weeks and grew increasingly worse by the day. NEVER would I have him back for even 5 minutes. Watching him suffer destroyed us all...our six children, one of our grand children and me.

Spot on. Our stories sounds like copy and paste. my husband was diagnosed stage 4 colon cancer in 2024, and died 8 months ago. He is pain free. They are happier than we can ever imagine. i struggle to get joy going though...i struggle so much😔.❤️❤️❤️

I lost my partner last monday. He is struggling coz he has ckd stage 5. can't breathe properly, pain in the abdomen, diarrhea. He was put in a incubator but after hours, he passed away🥺🕊️
