Don'Monique :
It’s quite literally the beginning of Just the Two of Us & the inspiration for her song. The first line is “I SEE the crystal raindrops fall, and the beauty of it all” and Olivia’s song is called “I’ve SEEN it”. I love her but this is clear as day.

I genuinely thought it was a cleared interpolation… I love it BECAUSE it sounds like a modern version 😭😭😭

This is why Beyoncé always has like 200 plus writers on her songs 😅 you gotta credit everyone

Her team, record label about to get a very expensive lesson. Ask Robin Thicke. Giving credit is the bare minimum artists should do.

I get that one sentence sounds similar, but come on it’s ONE sentence in the whole song that sounds similar.

It really might just be that phrase though. The way the melody continues is entirely different. Emphasis on just the two of us both harmonically and melodically is on 1 and 3. This is on 2 and 4. There are quite a lot of differences aside from this measure of the music and the rhythm isn’t even exactly the same.

And then the lyrics obviously point to it being on purpose “Ive heard it laced in every song” and then she sings the melody to another love song??

I think the wider issue is that its increasingly difficult to come up with original ideas. Its not reasonable to suggest only one person can come up with it. You may be correct though, but it is not necessarily the case

This is what music and art is. Just the two of us is one of the most famous songs ever obviously people are going to borrow. J Cole said “You were inspired by the world, allow the world to be inspired by you.”
