@russellamber_: The Puffs are home from a successful show season. Here is my full fall routine for getting each Gypsy Vanner back into their protective style braids & feather care. 1) Full Body Clip (it’s still 90 degrees during the day). 2) Tidy up the bridle path, feather undercut, and tail undercut (if needed) with Wahl KMC+ clipper. 3) Mane N Tail Shampoo & Conditioner for full body, forelock, mane, tail, and feather bath. Scrub Scrub scrub with scrubby gloves for a deep clean! 4) Brush out any Hyperkeratosis in feather with lice comb after conditioner has softened the build up. 5) Spray feather with coconut oil for protection. 6) Under-clip the feather, clip off ergots, and twist/peel off softened chestnuts for a tidy groom and also to help manageme Hyperkeratosis & prevent mites. 7) Once hair is air dried or blown dry, place forelock, mane, and tail into protective style leave-in braids. 8) Protect mane & tail in socks, mane bags, and Puff Protector Tail bag! Fit all that tail, all in one full coverage bag with Puff Protectors 🥰 DM me if you’d like one! Continue preventative and protective style grooming throughout the winter until washing is possible again in the late spring/early summer. Preventative grooming through the winter helps horses’ skin & hair stay healthy, clean, and comfortable through the colder months. Coming soon: educational tutorials about mite treatment & prevention, Hyperkeratosis management, and CPL care. Happy Grooming 🥰 #equestrian #grooming #horselover #gypsyvanner #horse

Can I ask why you let the mane/tail get so long? is it a breed thing? I apologize, I've never been around Gypsy horses before.

charline.hml :

Great marketing. 🐎🩷

There is a conditioner you should try, it's a little off brand but it will have remarkable results. It's called furminator coat conditioner for dogs. It has an unbelievable formula for hair. You may end up really liking it.

✨B✨ :

How do decide who and when to clip? My friesian doesn’t have a SUPER thick coat but it’s thick enough the sweat clings when we ride and I’d hate for her to get a chill. BUT I know I’d have to blanket more
