The little things you don’t realize until later. For me, it was the way my Dad was always kind to anyone and everyone he met. He took me to the flea markets on all sides of town, the thrift stores, the hole in the wall mechanic. Everyone knew him and he made relationships with all of them. I remember I heard a loud noise on my car. I pulled into the mechanic my dad had always gone to without an appointment. They immediately figured out the tire shop didn’t tighten my tires enough and I would have had a tragedy on the interstate. They tightened it up and sent me on my way, no money exchanged. My Dad always treated them like friends and that’s how I try to treat others.

Literally I grew up in such a healthy family, my parents showered me with love and care, I didn’t realize that they are other people out there who weren’t as lucky and are completely fkd up and have deep traumas and complexes… was the lesson of life. Stay safe yall

I pray to God that my child realize this one day. I'm protecting them from the things I wasn't protected from, my mom did the best she could with what she had but I was still exposed to too much, too young.
