@koniack81: “Golden Bayon” This one’s for my Khmer peeps in the 408. I remember coming to the Santa Clara Fairgrounds for Cambodian New Years when I was younger. It was always a dope and fun event. When I was given the opportunity to paint a mural here I wanted to pay homage to that experience and celebrate the Southeast Asian Cultures that has helped shape the city of San Jose. I believe that that impact definitely deserves more representation. FYI: I believe the Santa Clara Fairgrounds will be hosting another Cambodian New Year event next year 2027 so if you attend, stop by and take a picture with this mural on Gateway Hall before it’s gone.
