red velvet brownies with cheesecake ghosts 👻 these are a little time consuming but were soo fun to make for spooky season! here’s how i made them :) ingredients: brownies: 1 cup brown butter 1 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup dutch processed cocoa 1 cup AP flour 2 tsp vanilla 1/4 cup buttermilk (room temp) 3 eggs (room temp) red food coloring to your liking cheesecake filling: 8 oz cream cheese, room temp 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1 egg black food coloring for ghosts make it: in a bowl, add eggs and both sugars. whip for a few minutes until glue like, and set aside. in a separate bowl, add brown butter and cocoa powder, whisk well, and set aside. combine both bowls into the bigger one and mix well. next add the vanilla, buttermilk, and red food coloring and mix. add in the flour, careful not to overmix. set aside. for the cheesecake mixture, add cream cheese and sugar into a bowl and whip for about 30 seconds. add in vanilla and eggs and mix well. scoop a tablespoon of this mixture and put into a tiny bowl. add black food coloring, you only need a little of this! pour half of red velvet brownie mixture into a pan, then add half of the cream cheese mixture. add the rest of the red velvet mixture ontop. to make the little ghosts, i plopped scoops of the cheesecake mixture on top, then used a butter knife to carefully drag it down. then i took a butter knife and dipped it in the black cheesecake mixture and carefully added it to make eyes and a mouth. bake at 350 for about 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean! the cheesecake will brown a little bit in the oven just fyi, but it’s still delicious. you could also double the cheesecake mixture if you prefer a stronger cheesecake flavor, i would just bake a little longer. if you try these i hope you love! just a fun way to bake this spooky season 👻 #halloweendesserts #fallbaking #halloweenbaking #cozybaking #explorepage✨
