For years working long hours and get home late and tired but my daughter for years always she used woke me up to take her to toilet (not woke her mother) until I got advice from Child psychologist one day, she told me when your daughter wake you up next time take her to toilet but don’t kiss her, don’t speak to her, just hold her hand, tucked her back to bed. I did that twice she never woke me back again. Believe these psychologist.

This is the exact reason I stayed quiet during my abuse. I was twelve and I thought I was alone, but he was also doing it to my little sister. he was my mom's cousin and someone my grandmother loved very much bc his mom was her sister. my sister told me before she told my parents bc she thought the same thing as me... "If we tell anyone, grandma will be devastated". the only reason I spoke up was bc I was attempting and my grandma caught me before I jumped. she asked me why I would do that and I told her. I was willing to die before telling anyone he was abusing me and my sister

I’m not a parent but I have 3 teenage nephews and soon to be teen niece. I have been learning so much about this very heavy and taboo topics from this account.
