@clodgesdiaries: 🚨 DO NOT BOOK THIS EXCURSION 🚨 Please share & repost - I genuinely don’t want anyone else having the experience we did. We were told everything was included, but this was NOT our experience. We were charged €5 (£6.50) at the animal rescue, but it wasn’t clear to us how this money was benefiting the animals. The animal welfare was one of the most distressing parts. We saw a wolf desperately trying to dig under the fence for what looked like a tiny crumb of bread, while workers appeared to do nothing. Three large brown bears were also being kept in a small concrete enclosure. 💔 We had a 1-year-old and a 5-year-old with us, and the whole situation became pure chaos as multiple people didn’t want to continue the trip. We just wanted to leave. We were told we’d have to pay £50 for the shuttle, despite it already being full. When we tried to arrange a taxi, we were directed to the owner, who became extremely aggressive and shouted in my face. We were then charged £80 for a taxi, only to later find out it should have been around £40. And we never even made it to Green Canyon - the reason we booked the excursion in the first place. Afterwards, we checked the Google reviews and were shocked to see many people describing very similar experiences. This made us even more concerned that this may not have been an isolated incident. Something needs to be done. An animal rescue should be somewhere people can trust that the animals are being cared for properly. What we witnessed left us deeply concerned.
