it's about gender roles. When he asks which one is the fork, what he means is when someone asks someone on a same sex relationship "which one is the bottom?". this is supposed to highlight misconceptions about gender roles where people do not know that people can be both the 'man' and 'woman' in a relationship sexually, especially in same sex relationships.

I’m didn’t see this as about sexuality at all, I see it in relationship dynamics, the knife cuts things down for the fork so the she can hold all the food, kind of showing the men working for the women in a lot of relationships, while the chopsticks symbolize working together in a relationship as you need both coordinated to pick up food showing an equal relationship where both pick up food equally showing a relationship where problems and rewards are shared by the couple. And the knives question is asking who is the “man” in the relationship meaning both sexually and to show his misunderstanding in how the couple works as both works as the “man” and “woman” no matter the actual gender of each.
