@momomoko_jp: Japan gets about 1,500 felt earthquakes a year. Most are small โ but if one hits during your trip, here's what actually happens and what you do, in order: ๐ฑ Every phone around you screams at once. That's the Earthquake Early Warning โ the shaking arrives seconds later. Don't dismiss it: get low, cover your head, away from windows ๐ข The building sways. Stay inside. Modern Japanese buildings are built to move โ outside is where glass, signs and roof tiles come down. Under a sturdy table until it stops ๐ The elevator stops and stays off until it's inspected. Stairs, always. Already inside one? Press every floor, get out at the first stop. Stuck? Use the intercom ๐ Hurt or trapped? Yell ใใใใฆ๏ผ (tasukete!) = help! One word, everyone reacts to it. ๐ 119 = ambulance & fire ยท 110 = police ๐ Near the sea? Strong โ or weak but long โ shaking IS the warning. Go uphill or up a tall concrete building now. Don't come back until the warning is lifted Before you land: get the free "Safety tips" app (official, alerts in English โ foreign SIMs don't always receive the warning). Save this before your trip ๐ ๐ฒ Practice ใใใใฆ out loud โ search "Kana Language Partner" in your app store Have you ever felt one in Japan? ๐ #japantravel #japantraveltips #earthquake #tokyotravel #learnjapanes
