Okay. For those saying, “No, the worst eyesight in the world would be blindness,” there’s a difference between a refractive error and blindness/vision loss. Y’all are being a little too picky with the wording.
Someone can have an extremely severe refractive error that makes their uncorrected vision incredibly blurry and debilitating, like the man in the video, but if the problem is purely refractive, it can potentially be corrected with glasses or contacts. Blindness and other forms of vision loss are different because the underlying problem involves damage or dysfunction of the eye, optic nerve, or visual pathways, rather than simply the eye being unable to focus light properly. Glasses can correct a refractive error, but they can’t repair damaged visual structures. So yes, technically speaking, blindness is more severe than simply having a refractive error. But when he says he has “the worst eyesight,” it’s pretty clear he’s talking about having an extremely severe refractive error, not claiming to be the most visually impaired person in the world.
