@temmieunique: 40 weeks of carrying you. 40 weeks of body changes. 40 weeks of discomfort. 40 weeks of wondering, “Is my baby okay?” 39 weeks of showing up even on the days my body wanted me to slow down. I worked remotely throughout my pregnancy. I taught my classes. I prepared lessons. I sat in front of my screen, smiled at my learners and kept going Even on the days when sitting for long hours became uncomfortable. There were days I was tired. Days my back hurt. Days I had to take more breaks. Days I wondered how I would keep up with everything while carrying a whole human being inside me. The sleepless nights. The frequent bathroom trips. The pelvic pressure. The backaches. The countless moments of asking, “When is this baby coming?” And then came the final stretch… The anticipation. The contractions. The pain. The deep breathing. The moments I wondered, “Can I really do this?” But somehow, I did. My body did what it was created to do. Thank you yahweh.. Looking at my baby today, I can’t help but look back and say, “Deborah, you did it!” I’m proud of myself. Proud of the woman who kept showing up. Proud of the mother who carried, worked, taught, waited and endured.
