Mmh I think his argument appears to conflate the investigative mandate of a commission of inquiry with the adjudicative jurisdiction of a court of law. The fact that a matter may be subject to judicial determination does not, in itself, oust a commission’s lawful authority to investigate relevant facts, summon witnesses, and obtain evidence within its terms of reference. If he contend that the commission lacks jurisdiction, the onus is on him to identify the legal basis for that contention. A mere assertion that a matter belongs in court does not constitute a valid jurisdictional objection, nor does it absolve a witness from answering lawful questions. The law requires substantiated arguments, not convenient interpretations of jurisdiction.
