@first.rated.gist: 🚨 “WHY ARE YOU HARASSING ME BECAUSE OF MY JEANS?” — YOUNG MAN CONFRONTS POLICE OFFICERS IN VIRAL VIDEO A tense encounter between a young man and police officers has sparked reactions online after a video appeared to show the man questioning officers over their decision to stop and confront him over his outfit. In the viral footage, the shirtless young man, dressed in camouflage trousers, can be seen speaking directly to the officers while appearing to demand an explanation for why he was being stopped. Text over the video alleges that “police [were] harassing the young boy because of his jean,” although the full circumstances leading to the confrontation are not clear from the clip. The young man appears visibly frustrated as he gestures while speaking to the officers, with other people standing nearby and watching the encounter unfold. The incident has reignited debate online over profiling, appearance-based policing and the treatment of young Nigerians by security personnel. While some viewers are questioning why a person’s clothing should become a reason for confrontation, others are calling for the full context of the encounter to be established before conclusions are drawn. The video circulating online does not independently establish what happened before the recording began or whether the officers had another reason for stopping the man. 📹 VIDEO SOURCE: TikTok/@kimani_11 — reposted footage visible in the supplied video #Nigeria #Naija #Lagos #Trending #Viral
