@rick.theengineer: A team ships code every day. How do they keep one small change from taking production down with it? One developer is adding a promo code box to a food delivery app. It works on her laptop. On the server it crashes, because one library is a different version there. A teammate rewrote the same checkout file last week and nobody noticed until the two changes ran into each other. So the team merges everything at once and spends a week pulling it apart again. The fix is boring, which is the whole point: ⚡ Merge small changes several times a day instead of once a month, so two people editing one file is a five-minute problem instead of a five-day one ⚡ Check every change before it reaches the main branch: build it, run the tests, check the code style. Make those checks required, and a red X stops the merge instead of being a mark someone scrolls past ⚡ Send a release to staging first, then to five percent of users before everyone gets it. Watch the error rate on that slice and go back to the previous version if it climbs. Only widen it once it stays flat Nothing here is clever. That is what makes it repeatable. CI asks whether the change passed the checks. CD asks whether it can reach users safely. Comment PIPELINE and I'll send it over. Which part of your release process still feels manual? 👇 #cicd #devops #github #softwareengineering #webdev
