80-90% of the military works in non-combat (desk) jobs. Only a small percentage risk their lives.

I’m a military spouse and I use my socialist benefits as a talking point with MAGA. It makes their brains short circuit. My husband and I went from extreme poverty in childhood to doing really well with all the socialist programs we benefit from and we know it never would have been possible without those programs. I just picked up a prescription off base because I couldn’t make it to base and get it for free. I only paid $0.67. My son is going to college and not a dime is coming out of our pockets even for his dorm and food.

Not to mention, you don’t actually even have to live on the military installation. Because if you don’t, they still give you money to find a place off post it doesn’t come out of your regular check. It’s additional funding.

Yep!! They love socialism, think they’re republicans, and then yell “we don’t want socialism,” while not understanding they joined the military for socialism.

It’s sooo funny when military members are so republican. I am like you live in a socialist society? Like what are you talking about?

I'm enlisted and i say this all the time to some of the people I work with when I hear them complaining about socialism. "For someone who complains about the threat of socialism you sure do benefit from it a lot. You have free medical and dental, you get 30 days of leave a year, if you're sick you get to stay home until you're better and still get a full paycheck." They love to say they earned that because they enlisted and i have to remind them that almost every developed western country in Europe has all those benefits without having to die for their country

There’s even a place you can go to work on your car. Every housing complex has at least one playground, purchases are tax free.

When I joined the Officer Spouses Group after marrying my husband, they explained how everything worked, and I was like, “Oh…so like socialism?” 😅 Everyone chips in money and helps each other out. When I had my first baby, they organized a meal train for us. The whole idea was to pool resources, lean on each other, and make sure everyone felt supported. But a majority of of those ladies identified as Republicans 🥲

Oh we are fully aware that military life is comparable to socialism and that is why we are the most outspoken against it on a national level

So with her reasoning the following are socialist organizations: professional sports teams , large corporations of amy kind , government employees of any kind , sororities, fraternities, the boys scouts , HOA,s etc

As wife to a member who has her own career, we are better off than anyone else our age. Our retirement is better simply because he has consistent income AND guaranteed healthcare, we have a lower interest rate on our house, college paid for our kids…everything you have to save for, we have as expendable income.

I was a military child. I grew up with tricare and never heard of a medical bill or copay or anything like that. We just went to the military hospital and it was all taken care of. When I was 19, my boyfriend (civilian family) at the time had an accident and started getting medical bills. I was so confused, I’m like “you have insurance, why isn’t this covered 100%? It should be.” Oh, I learned that day 🙃
