2 Days in Zion National Park. The landscapes in Zion are certainly unique, and I would describe it as the red rock version of Yosemite Valley, or Sedona on steroids. We went in the fall (end of October 2022), and the weather was perfect for hiking. I couldn’t imagine hiking to Angel’s Landing in the scorching heat! Itinerary below ⬇️ Day 1: -Original plan was to go to Observation Point (~7 miles) but unfortunately due to some snow, the road to the trailhead was not passable (always make sure to have a plan b in case the weather isn’t in your favor!) -Canyon Overlook (~1 mile) -Scout Lookout/Angel’s Landing (~3.5/4.2 miles, note: angel’s landing requires a permit) -Emerald Pools Trail (~ 3 miles) -End the day with watching the sunset at Canyon Junction Bridge overlooking the Virgin River and the Watchman Day 2: Hike the Narrows (bottoms up), this is an out and back trail between canyon walls where you will spend a good amount of time wading through the Virgin River. Make sure to check for flash flood warnings, as the area is prone to flooding! The whole distance is ~9 miles, but you can do as much as you like and turn back (we ended up doing ~7 miles). To ensure you are appropriately equipped, stop by Zion Outfitters for the right gear (they offer different packages depending how cold it is, and can include dry pants, neoprene socks, canyoneering boots, and a wooden hiking stick for balance). This is a truly unique experience that is not to be missed! #zionnationalpark #nps #visitutah #Hiking #Outdoors
