I agree! Who would be a great alternative to Doug Ford?

IMO he gets charged overly and then his friends who owns the company gives him cash back in his pocket. They are helping him scam in my opinion this wouldn't surprise me in the least.

I hate those ads, but I find myself leaning towards the idea that “government makes ads showing what it’s doing” has benefits that we shouldn’t ignore. One of the reasons the US is so messed up is that one party wants to do things for the population, and one party wants to undo to be able to give tax cuts to billionaires. People vote for the second in part because they’re often entirely unaware of what the things being done are and how they benefit from them. Government successes are often quiet, and Canada has had trouble trumpeting them. Do I like the focus of these ads on implying there’s a huge crime problem that requires yet more of tax dollars to be pumped into policing while healthcare and education get stripped? No, but the teachers’ union, among others, is doing great counter programming on that. And I do see the overall benefit in “HEY! LOOK WHAT WE’RE DOING FOR YOU! DON’T VOTE FOR ‘GOVERNMENT IS THE PROBLEM’ ANTISOCIAL NONSENSE!” ads, even from the other party, to avoid us slipping further into the Murdoch/Rebel News/etc nihilism trap the US is already in

What I find hilarious is people complain about paying taxes for health care and so on yet crickets when our money is being spent on these commercials.

Ford is only working 53 days this year for his salary of $290,750. I did not vote for Doug.

Think of it this way……it’s like asking a career criminal to make reforms to criminal law. In other words, unless we get someone like Mamdani here in Ontario, we are eff’d.

I don't think it's allowed here either. the party pays. they have GIANT coffers and spend more annually than billion dollar brands do in Canada

It happens in Saskatchewan too. And they always use the excuse that the ads are to let people know about govt programs.
ALL ads for a govt should be created by a Crown Corp that has NO connection with the sitting govt.

I know this is crazy we shouldn’t have to pay for those. There must be some way to get him out. A petition or pressure the legislature. 🤷🏻♀️
