To be fair the military gets the best targets out of the impoverished or poor to enlist, which is why African Americans and Minorities enlist so much, and Trump hasnt exactly been an ally to them, so who else are they gonna appeal to😭 space force recently said they need 15000 new recruits and their job requires a college degree and equivalent training of one, and not a lot of college students are that interested in spending their degree to go into government sector when they could go private and make at least double.

the current and newest appeal is job security in a struggling in stagnant economy. the cost of living has sky rocketed and the cost of tuition has doubled in the last 10 years. I personally joined to go to college for free. NOW, as I pursue my post grad education, I could generally not afford it without the miltary. Health insruance at my wife's job (she works at a hospital) would be 600$ for us and our kid, that is insane, ontop of what her car insurance would be versus mine through USAA, and loan options on our cars and house for our credit union versus mine, we would have to live a complete different very conservative spending life if it wasn't for the military even with her being a nurse. The number 1 selling point that is currently getting people to enlist right now is the economy, recruitters in areas with high unemployment can confirm this.
