To the younger me, who showed up when she was tired, scared, and didn't yet know how much she could carry: thank you. You held it together so I could stand here today. I honor you, and I carry you with me. I am grateful for the privilege of caring for so many lives. I have cared for people living with dementia and Alzheimer's, autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and the frailty that comes with age. Each one trusted me with their days, their dignity, and their peace. There is no greater honor than to serve, and I am proud to belong to this community of caregivers. And today, I make a promise to myself: I will care for my own body as faithfully as I care for others. I will keep my doctor's appointments, my checkups, and my screenings. I will rest without guilt, because rest is not weakness. I will ask for help and speak up when I am struggling. I will not suffer in silence. I will eat, drink water, sleep, and breathe on purpose. I will guard my heart, my mind, and my spirit. I do not have to abandon my post to take care of myself. I can stay faithful to my calling and still be faithful to me. A caregiver who is whole gives care that is whole.

(Galatians 6:9) "Come ye yourselves apart… and rest a while." (Mark 6:31) This is my pledge. I serve with love, I rest with purpose, and I am worthy of the same care I give. Signed: ____________ Date: ________ ❤️ If you could make one promise to yourself today, what would it be? Caregiver, this pledge is yours too. Save it, sign it, and read it on the hard days. Comment "I PLEDGE" if you're making this promise with me. 🙏🏾TO YOURSELF 💜 #HealingForCaregivers #FollowMeAcrossTheBridge #CaregiverPledge #CaregiverSelfCare #CaregiverBurnout
