Giving my daughter's Hokas a heavy scrub today. Honestly, they were so filthy that they didn't turn out quite as clean as I wanted them to, but the process was still so satisfying to film. 🧼✨ ❤️ Family Update: So many of you have been asking how my dad is doing, and I wanted to give you an update. He is currently in the hospital, and the doctors found out he has aggressive cancer. We are processing everything right now, but I want to thank every single one of you from the bottom of my heart for all your love, prayers, and support during this incredibly hard time. The Battle of Chaldiran (August 23, 1514) The Battle of Chaldiran was a tactical clash between the modernized Ottoman military and the traditional Safavid cavalry forces. Ottoman Formation: Sultan Selim I utilized a tabur çemberi (a defensive perimeter formed by baggage wagons chained together). Behind this shield, he positioned his Janissary corps equipped with arquebuses (early muskets) and heavy field artillery. Safavid Strategy: Shah Ismail I relied on his elite Qizilbash cavalry. Their strategy was based on high-speed charges, superior horsemanship, and shock-combat tactics using swords and spears. Firepower vs. Charge: As the Safavid cavalry initiated their charge, they were met with synchronized, concentrated volleys of musket fire and heavy cannon bombardment from the entrenched Ottoman lines.
