My husband went on a 25k walk today. I said to him, I'd love to be able to do that, just go out in nature and be alone. He said, but you can. No, I can't - I wouldn't feel safe by myself. I wouldn't be able to relax, or not look over my shoulder ever 5 seconds. I'm nearly 40 and it's so sad I can't just go out for a walk in the forest, by myself. How sad

We’ve been taking responsibility since the beginning of time. I was 10 when my mom’s nephew 🍇 me and my family made me feel like it was my fault, even my own mother said “why didn’t you just get out of the house” when she was the one that left me alone with that man. Why was it my responsibility at 10 yo to think like an adult or to stop something I didn’t cause.

And when I was a stay at home, mom, at least I thought that he would provide the income, and I did everything else, but he made the income and then kept 100% control of it for himself and treated me like a child on a very strict allowance. So he didn’t even do that.

I read that 1 man in the group chat was asleep when this happened and when he woke up he was upset and forwarded the messages to Jane Doe 😳 Statistically 1 in 57/58 is diabolical. 😳 I don't trust it either because would he of been the same had he been awake at the time, or inebriated? Was he wanting to save his own skin? Hindsight is a powerful thing. I don't believe this was an isolated incident 😕

I was just trying to speak sense in a LIVE saying this exact sentiment, where a “man” told me “what about women, it’s not old times anymore. You have gained a lot of power and with that comes responsibility.” The way my head exploded. We are not safe. Men (& women) have come out of the woodwork, showing just how dangerous it is for women at school, work and in our own home. “Women are asking for it, they want it………..they need to be accountable for their own actions”
