Honestly, I prefer either retro :D :/ T_T, modern-ish 💀🫀🥀, or none at all. The 😅🤣🥰 have always seemed ingenuine and too explanatory to me. I feel like the lack of emoji nowadays is caused by a mix of growing online literacy (aka read the context), exhaustion (bots that usually use a lot of emotions) and aversion to genx/millenial humour (which is often self deprecating and filled with internalised shame, say, this emoji: 😅). Also, by the looks of it, the younger generations stop apologising for their emotions, stopped explaining themselves, like the older do. And what is an emoji if not additional explanation that nobody asked for. But that's just a suggestion. Also, pardon my English - not a native
