If he knew the gnosis and dottore's help wouldn't magically make him a God in the end, he wouldn't even be IN the Fatui. He was always gonna leave his scaramouche identity eventually just like how he left the identity of kabukimono. He literally cuts off pieces of his past more faster than most of us cut off our exes 😟..

At the same time though it’s important to remember he hasn’t really redeemed himself ether and that’s what makes him so interesting and no I will not listen to anyone saying he has been because his biggest issue of not taking accountability is still incredibly present even to this day
