@elderjandrsvzquez: WHO REALLY CONTROLS THE NARRATIVE? We like to believe that we make our own choices, that what we believe is simply what we were taught, what we saw, or what we heard growing up. But history shows us something worth remembering: Information can shape behavior. Advertising can shape culture. And propaganda can make a commercial interest look like a personal choice. The “French Paradox” helped popularize the idea that red wine could be good for the heart, while later research raised serious questions about how alcohol studies were designed and funded. The NIH ultimately terminated its $100 million moderate-alcohol trial after concerns about the integrity of the research process. And in 1929, Edward Bernays helped stage the famous “Torches of Freedom” campaign, using the language of women's equality to promote cigarette smoking. That doesn't mean everything is a conspiracy. It means we should learn to ask better questions: Who created the message? Who benefits from me believing it? What evidence supports it? And what information was left out? Because the most powerful form of control isn't always forcing people to do something. Sometimes it's convincing them that the choice was entirely their own. Think. Question. Research. Don't surrender your mind to anybody. 🎥 Original page/video credit: Quiet Wolf (@Quiet Wolf) #QuestionEverything #ThinkForYourself #MediaLiteracy #Propaganda #CriticalThinking
