@georgecmurray: Six years ago I had never written a book. Today there are ten with my name on them. Nearly 2,000 hours of writing. That count leaves out the editing, the proofreading, and the cover design. The first one was HIRED. I had something to say and no idea whether anyone would read it. It became an Amazon Best Seller. Then it took gold in business at the Midwest Book Awards. That reaction showed me how much more I had to write about. So I kept going. The best part was never the award. It was the doors that opened afterward. Rooms I would not have walked into. People I would not have met. Conversations I will never forget. Here is the number I want you to remember. 2,000 hours over six years is less than one hour a day. Nobody handed me those hours. I took them, around a full-time career, one page at a time. Most people who tell me they could never write a book, start a company, or change careers are missing two things. They have no goal written down, and they have no plan for the next hour. Whatever you want is on the other side of an hour a day, repeated longer than is comfortable. A goal and a plan. If you want something, YOU CAN.
