How wonderful it is to simply be alive in this world and come to know that God, our Creator, loves us. 🤍 The God who made all things came to meet us in Jesus Christ, the fullest revelation of who God is. He walked among us. He healed us, held us, wept with us, rejoiced with us, taught us how to love, and ultimately gave Himself for us. 🙏 Amen #thechosen #christianity #jesus #bibleverse #edit

Most of today's Paris is younger than it looks. Building takes off from the 1850s, when Haussmann's renovation cut the grand boulevards and lined them with the uniform stone apartment blocks that still define the city. Construction peaks around 1900 in the Belle Époque, drops sharply during the First World War, recovers in the 1920s and 30s, then nearly stops through the Second World War. The post-war decades add the modern towers and housing estates, mostly toward the city's edges, while the historic centre stays largely as Haussmann left it. Data comes from France's national building database (BDNB), which gives a construction year for 88% of 110,000 buildings, with heights measured by IGN. Many years are rounded to the nearest decade. The about 2,700 buildings older than 1800, including the medieval Marais, are shown from the first frame rather than at their true dates, which is why the histogram starts with a spike at 1800.
