⚠️ A court just ruled that privately keeping AI-generated child s*xual ab*se material at home can be protected, as long as no real child is named. This isn't okay, and it changes how we should share photos of our kids. The honest version: the Seventh Circuit only tossed one possession charge. Making this material, distributing it, and sending it to a minor are all still crimes. But the ruling rests on "no real child involved," and that's already false in practice. Stanford researchers found real ab*se material inside the dataset behind the tool used in this case, and "nudify" apps that strip clothes off ordinary photos are everywhere. A clothed, everyday picture is enough raw material. So start with the mindset, not the toggles. For years the default was public, share freely, lock down only if something felt wrong. Flip it. Private first, and treat any public photo of your kid as something a stranger could grab and misuse. Then the settings back it up: 🔒 Set any account your kids appear in to private, and clear out followers you don't actually know. 📱 Keep face-forward, swimsuit, and bath photos out of public posts. 🚩 Turn off location tagging and strip photo metadata before uploading. ✅ Watch for your kids' images getting reposted by accounts you don't recognize. The best and only secure move, don’t post your kids at all. Want additional steps to keep your kids photos private?
