The way you stayed that calm needs to be studied because if that were me, I genuinely don’t know how that conversation would have ended ,Hearing two grown men casually agree that they would rather BEAT a woman than divorce her would have triggered me so badly,I would have had a lot to say, and I can already tell you it would not have been sweet or respectful ,The fact that violence against women can be discussed so casually, like it’s some normal alternative to divorce, is actually sickening🤦♀️

Some people don't understand that any person that will advise you on something which is leading you to the wrong way, they're not the enemy of that your problem but your enemies yessss!!! Growing up in an Arewa home as girl they raise you thinking that you can’t move forward without getting married,you need to tolerate whatsoever your husband does to you be it good or bad but while this is being taught to the girl, they forget to teach the boys what it means to be a husband,you need to care and respect your wife, they made the men think that marriage is autocratic thinking their wife don’t have opinion on things . I remember recently when I commented on nans Bello page saying that all what she was advocating for is that you know your rights as a woman and someone replied “ IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE A RIGHT AS A WOMAN THEN YOU STAY IN YOUR FATHERS HOUSE” now telling a lady I will send you back to father house no longer threatens them. I am so glad that the ladies are coming out to defend themselves and fight for their rights even if they will be criticized. I pray and hope that new parents are raising their boys well. Another thing is that men like to do things as long as it favors them,true Allah does not like divorce but do they know the punishment that comes with hitting a woman? Do they know the implication of maltreating a woman? All these things are not being taught anymore and people have stop to seek for knowledge they just do things as long as it favors them.
