yes this is why i lowkey hate how likable they made charlie in the movies, in the books bella takes care of everything in the house! this detail would have helped the audience see that human life for bella is less ideal than they think it is

yes! bella needed a safe adult. her parents were unreliable and she ended up finding that comfort and reliability in edward. i always feel a little sad thinking about how ready she was to choose death/immortality to escape how mundane and disappointing her human life felt 😭

Even making her a mother bc the author is a Mormon is still easier with Edward than with Jacob. She basically births renesme and then leaves her with an entire village who adores her and never even puts her down to sleep in a crib. She gets to have the "family" without the insane responsibility

Also add in that Edward is literally set in stone so there’s no chance of him falling out of love with her while Jacob is human. He can grow/change all while having the risk of imprinting hanging over their heads. Making Edward, again, the safer option.
