It's a one-time $90 payment to help with your Part B premium, but only for people on Original Medicare. 🚫 On a Medicare Advantage plan? You don't get it. Word for word from Medicare's FAQ: "Beneficiaries enrolled in Medicare Advantage are not eligible." 🚫 Pay IRMAA (the extra Part B charge for higher incomes)? You don't get it. 🚫 Medicaid pays your Part B premium? You don't get it. ✅ You do get it if: you're on Original Medicare with Part B, you live in the U.S., and none of the above applies. That's about 20.8 million people. 🏦 Most people get a direct deposit on or around October 8. No direct deposit? A check goes to the address Medicare has on file. A letter or email from the President follows in mid-October. Nothing to apply for. The money comes from the Medicare Improvement Fund, which Congress funded years ago. ⚠️ The payment is real.
