@living.rochester.suburbs: The Rochester Auto Show is finished after 118 years. 🚗 The announcement came from the dealers' association itself: "Following a long history dating back to 1908, the Rochester Auto Show is being discontinued." News10NBC confirmed it will not return in 2027. No reason was given. The statement thanked exhibitors, sponsors and community partners, pointed shoppers toward individual dealerships, and said nothing about why. But here's the part nobody is reporting. It was never 118 straight years. The organizers' own 1968 program bills it as the "51st Auto Show." If it had run every year since 1908, 1968 would have been the 61st. Ten shows had already vanished by then, almost certainly to the world wars, the same way Chicago went dark from 1941 to 1949. Then it died twice more. 2021 and 2022 were both cancelled, and Spectrum covered its 2023 return "after pandemic hiatus." And you could watch it shrinking. Eight days in 1958. Four days for decades. Three days from 2025 on. Over 200 vehicles in 2023, about 150 every year after. What Rochester actually loses is on the last slide 👉 📸 Photo Credit: WROC, Wikipedia, The Rising Nepal, Five Lugs, Democrat and Chronicle #LivingRochesterSuburbs #RochesterNY #585 #RochesterAutoShow

Zach :
the cars are all garbage and everything is priced to the moon, why bother going to see the next pile of trash you can't afford anyway?

Obviously they weren't making money, so kick it to the curb.

It’s a slept on event. So much fun to be able to sit in & see so many cool cars in a small space. 🥰
