I came in as a long term sub in January to finish the year. It was really tough every single day. One kid, in particular, disrupted every class. He was a graduating senior. At the end, I told him that I had been close to quitting because of him. He was shocked.

And I thought the kids who would throw raisins at me in math class were bad! (I mean they were but at least there were a couple of teachers who had no patience for their nonsense.)

I work at an elementary school as a yard aide and I also go in a room with the transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students who are late friends and start school at 10:25. Luckily there is two of us adults in there but we have a student who since the beginning started acting out, not listening, leaving out of the room, hitting some of the other students, hitting us the adults, throwing toys and papers to the floor, called the other adult with me a “stupid bitch” and absolutely nothing was done all the principal did was a have a meeting with his parents and he still got to come back and be with us. on Thursday he tried to bite the other adult in there with me and he hit me because I took a lollipop from him that I had already asked him to put away and he was going to eat it. I took him to the principal all she did was talk to him for less than 5 minutes and let him play with the magnets on her whiteboard. Yesterday he hit 7 students and I wrote a note of everything he did and left it on the principals desk because she wasn’t in her office. I recently found out that that students mom is pregnant but I still don’t think it’s an excuse for him to be able to still get to be in there with all those students and do all that.

They give an iep to so many kids that don't need or deserve it, which takes away from the children that do need and benefit from it.

It’s a mess, this type of behavior is exactly why I had to homeschool. Crazy, the problems used to be addressed, now the kids getting harassed have to exit the scene and leave the class to those who don’t use it.

I pulled my younger son out of public school because of a kid like this. He kept hitting my son (and others) with a stick at school and the teachers DID NOTHING. That child was a menace and the school refused to do anything. Private school has been much better.

I think we need to make sure to note you’re referring to behavioral iep. An iep itself or student with iep’s are not trouble makers, disruptive, or problems in class. My daughter is on one for having a front bilateral lisp and going to speech therapy. I’ve watched several of these videos now and we’re just making blanket statements about kids on iep’s.
parents these days don't get off their phone long enough to do any parenting.. shoot my daughter just went buck wild I gotta go parent.

its absolutely not a parenting issue. its a government issue. the government tied parents hands when they decided that all types of discipline constitute child abuse. beyond telling a child their behaviour is unacceptable, there is really nothing parents can do.
you take away parents ability to parent, this is what happens

try dealing with those behaviors as a school bus driver. the school gives no consequences for bad behavior on the bus
