I agree with your message but respectfully it’s just as important to understand American cultural differences and respect that Black American is a unique ethnicity that’s distinct from any other group regardless of proximity to the culture. 🤍🤍🫶🏽

Thank you for the message brother but Black American is our ethnicity, you can't just become our ethnicity because of proximity to black American culture, that is ethnic erasure. This is one of the reasons there has been so much chaos. people treat our ethnic group and culture like something they can hop in and out of by way of just being near us, ancestry or racial classification. The government census makes it clear anyone born in America with roots from another African country or Carribeans are identified by the ethnic group followed by American. We are the only black Americans.

Appreciate what you’re saying but please - ‘Black American’ is an ethnic group. You my friend are Jamaican-American. Yes you are black (racially) and yes you are American (nationality) - you are black IN America, but you are NOT ‘Black American’ as that is a separate ethnicity you cannot immigrate into - even if you were born here. Please respect our ancestral and ethnic identity.

Respect the uniqueness of the Black American ethnicity as we do the same to Jamaicans by understanding that you can no more be Black American than you can be Japanese just by being born and living in Japan and being familiar with Japanese culture. Otherwise you’re disrespectfully tethering.
