@sheena.tiktok76: Replying to @nujia A small amount of fear should be felt from kids to parents….. You ain’t their friend, you are the parent #parentingstruggles #parentinggoals
It’s possible to instil healthy respect in kids without beating them. The issue I see is people not parenting their kids well and so they don’t know how to behave. My mum only had to look at me a certain way and I knew I’d overstepped. She didn’t need to raise her voice or hit me, I was simply taught her expectations and conformed.

I’m 52, I was only ever smacked once and I think my dad did it more out of fear than anything else but by god when my dad raised his voice I knew I’d done wrong

We were taught respect and were fearful of a raised voice! These kids haven't got a clue

Beating is about the parent’s frustration. I don’t advocate hitting a child, they are defenceless. However there needs to be respect and control. And no beaten children can often go on to beat, hence the family abuse stats.

Beats, licks, lash, I got all of them. But that was how a lot of the Windrush generation disciplined their children. In schools the lack of respect for adults is insane!

I literally smacked my sons bottom about 3 times when he was little little I never needed to after that. He knew the tone, still knows the tone. he’s 23. And a fine young man. Even if I do say so myself. I got beats growing up!! from everyone! older siblings, aunts, uncles, friends parents, the milkman 😂😂
