A similar building technique was used by the British military during WW2 to build a temporary massive harbour for the allied invasion of France on the 6th of June 1944, the strategically important concrete landing bridgehead was constructed in England under complete secrecy and towed across the Channel to the Normandy beaches to form a landing platform for the supply of massive amounts of equipment for the invasion and liberation of Europe
