@jenn_2436: In 2026 19 states raised minimum wage, we also saw prices rise in return. Companies are going to offset this money that they are paying employees. we see that happening by raising the cost of services or goods. ##breakingnews##minimumwage##trump##trumpadministration##fyp

just a question Jennifer federal minimum wage by federal standards has not gone up with like 20 years it's still what I think like it's what 7:25ish. prices have been going going up without minimum wage going up so that kind of defeats the making of a video of this they're already going up they've been going up for years but wages have not gone up

It's true that some prices can rise, but the research suggests the effect is small. Studies of past minimum wage increases generally find prices go up by well under 1% for each 10% raise in the wage, mostly in restaurants and other labor heavy businesses. That's a few cents on a meal, not a major hit to anyone's budget. Meanwhile, the benefit to workers is large. Higher pay also tends to cut turnover, which saves employers real money on hiring and training. And since low wage workers spend most of what they earn locally, the money flows back into the community. A small price bump spread across many customers is a fair trade for letting full-time workers afford basic needs.

In Texas the minimum wage has been 7.25 since 2009. The price on everything manufactured or produced in Texas has increased. Also your saying business are going to recoup those losses when pay increases. So why can't Republicans understand thats how tarrifs work??

The minimum wages hasn't been increased in 17 years but non the less everything got more expensive, how does that fit into your argument 🤔🤔 So it gets more and more expensive to live, but you don't think, that people should earn a livable wage.

I don’t agree with this. Leave minimum wage alone. It was never ment to support a family it was an extra job or a kids job. What a joke

When the federal minimum wage was created in 1938, President Franklin D. Roosevelt intended it to be a "living wage" that allowed a fully employed worker to live independently and cover basic necessities, though opinions on its original scope and modern role differ widely

Raising the minimum wage causes a very small, localized bump in specific service prices rather than driving broad national inflation.

The cost of goods have gone up so much while the minimum wage is low the problem is that companies are so top heavy not paying more to the average Joe goods could stay steady.

Eating Dangerously :
It would be really cool if people who don't understand economics would stop talking about economics but since that's not going to happen... When you raise the minimum wage you increase this thing called economic velocity that's the amount of money circulating in a local economy, if you're a local business this is great for you because it means that more people have money to buy your services, though there is debate about the net effect of that increased velocity of capital moving through the economy one thing that is absolutely certain is that it increases the overall value and economic activity locally. So let's say you are in a locale with a low minimum wage and you sell shoes, you do okay with selling shoes but some of your shoes are rather expensive so they sit on the shelf a long time and you see depreciation and you see where housing costs because of that. All of a sudden there's a big push and minimum wage is increased this tends to lift wages across the board now that person who's been pining over those expensive shoes but who is only been able to buy mid-level shoes from you can come in when they need shoes and buy those expensive shoes either as a treat to themselves or as their usual working shoes which they'll cycle through every four to six months. that increased spending in your store buying the more expensive shoes gives you the capital to hire another salesperson because the increased traffic into your store means you're selling more shoes in general which increases the value of your business overall. that employee that you were able to hire in is making minimum wage but minimum wage is higher so now that person who didn't have a job and now has a job and can go to a different store in your community and buy some things there and the cycle repeats.
