@shandongboss001: How does a ship get past a 181-meter-high dam? The answer is surprisingly simple: build an elevator for ships. This is the vertical ship lift at China's Three Gorges Dam. A vessel enters a giant water-filled chamber, the gates close, and the entire chamber—with the ship floating inside—is raised or lowered between the upstream and downstream sides of the dam. The moving chamber, together with its water and equipment, weighs around 15,500 tons, and the system is designed for vessels up to the 3,000-ton class. People take elevators between floors. عنما يتم انشاء سد معين على نهر ترتفع المياه من جهة المنشاء وتنخفض من جهة المصب الامر الاذي لا يسمح لسفن بالعبور بطريقة معتاده فيتم صنع بوابه ومسلك خاص للعبور من المناطقه العلويه الى السفليه لستكمال العبور ناهيك عن الرسوم التى تدفعها كل سفيه والحقيقه ان وجود السد منعها من العبور واخر موعد الوصول فالمتظرر هم اصحاب السفينه وهم من يجب تعويضهم 😅😅😅
