I have anxiety and i don't do well in crowded spaces, told my therapist that i was paranoide and thinking about not going to the Mcr concert on summer because i was afraid of heatstroke or the train derrailing. He looked me dead in the eyes and said but what if you stay at home and your neighbour has a gas leak and the building explodes? Then you would miss the concert AND die too. I was too stunned to speak.

We're going to talk about houses burning down WITHOUT checking the news for the rest of the session, and then you will go home at a reasonable pace, without speeding, without running, and you will think about your house burning down while coming to our next session and any other time you leave the house"

Shoutout to my therapist, when I had agoraphobia he took me to a busy grocery store and pretended to faint to prove to me that even if my worst fear came true people would help or at the very worst just ignore you
