@thotline_news: 3rd October 2026 - Just my opinion. It brings me no pleasure to say this because i like Polanski and the Greens and wish him all the best but his role as the left wing alternative to Starmer was his big draw factor and thats gone now.... #zackpolanski #greenparty #andyburnham #labourparty #keirstarmer
More than probably anyone else Polanski needs a stronger PR team to tell him when to stop talking

I just don’t believe Zack Polanski is prime minster material. I think he’s a nice man with values i agree with.

That said, he and the Greens have had an impact. Labour wouldn't have pivoted left or thrown the kitchen sink at getting Burnham in No. 10 without them.

So much of the hate against Zack feels either “he’s not traditionally attractive” or “let’s go after him because he’s Jewish”

Green Party are in their ukip phase. Their polling is influencing the Labour Party to move slightly left in the same way ukip influenced the conservatives to move more right

reasonable take - but I think that there's something more solid to the Green surge than Zack alone. Reform does not have that; the entire party's personality hinges on Farage as a populist figure

Polanski just self sabotages and its so sad. Burnham has been doing all the right things so far.

Burnham is just as bad as Starmer he justsays what people want to hear but his actions don’t align. The avoidance of nationalising water is one of many examples of this.

We need a strong Green Party to push labour to the left

Sad to see but I completely concur, especially on your point of falling to read the room and self owns… there’s been many of those

Coming from a Swedish perspective you have to tax everyone and you have to tax them a lot. Norway tried to tax the rich extra recently and they just ran away. If you tax everyone a high amount you will raise the money quickly especially given your working population dwarfs ours

I had every intention of voting green in the next GE but if burnham keeps going the way he’s going, especially if he follows through on getting us back in the EU, then I will vote labour.

I'm still firmly team Green. Labour are still in the pockets of oligarchs, any shifts right now are just for optics.

I fully agree, another problem it felt like some people were only supporting Polanski not the Green Party as a whole.

I think they’re basically just a pressure group for Labour. Now Labour have Burnham they’re moving more to the left. What the greens need to do now is work with Labour and support the policies that align with their values

my biggest hope is that they still have a significant enough seats to have a major say in parliament

Polanski doesn’t have the “aura” (hate that term) to make him electable

reform and the greens being similar in how their initial popularity and peak was driven by general dislike of keir starmer is such an obvious yet good point to make

In my opinion. To the younger demographics, Green and Reform are just “the tiktok parties”. They ebb and flow with relevancy.

The soft middle will turn back to Labour sure, they were never going to stick because as you say Starmer was kryptonite. But there is still a significant portion of folks like me who, regardless of leader will never vote Labour again and that’s where things get interesting, especially if voting reform (not voting Reform) actually gets traction
