The best way to go is to have them on separate disks, using if you have an HDD and an SSD then install windows on the SSD and the other os on the HDD, if you still have problems with windows killing itself or killing the other os then strictly use SSD partitions only for windows (HDD partitions can be used for both even if it's fat32 and windows can read it)

I did partitions myself in CachyOS manual and it was pretty easy u just need to shrink ur Windows partition to get unallocated space (u could delete some apps to get more space for Linux) and then in the manual install create a new partition out of the unallocated space, set the "/" mount point, create a partition with the "/boot/efi" mount point and select "boot" as a flag, formatting the "/" partition might make it easier (best filesystems for the Linux partition are btrfs and ext4) and for the boot partition make sure the filesystem is fat32
