@devinedwelling: Having shame over my struggle would mean having shame over my entire existence. The further I go along this journey, the louder the voice in my head gets, trying to sabotage all of my efforts. I can be so impatient and so hard on myself, but when I look back over the past three years and see how far I've come, I know I'm on the right path and I'm proud of myself. It's hard to look back and see who I had become and how far I let myself go. It scares me, and I think my drive comes from never wanting to feel that pain again. I panic when I think about being there again, and that keeps me going. I wrestle a lot with sharing my story, but the funny thing is my whole life has been this long journey of just trying to feel better, looking for answers, trying to figure it out, and I did it. There's no hiding who I was or where I've been. There's only the beauty in creating what lies ahead. I hope this is a reminder to anyone out there that it’s not too late to just start and there’s no shame and having to start over and over and over again.
