It's a shame that Elessar isn't in the films, but this elven brooch is present in the Lord of the Rings cartoon. I adhere to the version that Galadriel received Elessar from Gandalf, and not from Celebrimbor. This makes more sense when Aragorn gets the Elfstone. I think the version with Celebrimbor contradicts the LotR. In this version, Celebrimbor is a blacksmith from Gondolin who is irresponsibly in love with Galadriel and to make Elessar for her happy. But in The Lord of the Rings, Tolkien listed Celebrimbor as a descendant of Fëanor. From The Silmarillion, we know that he is his grandson. Turgon refused to allow Fëanor's grandson, Celebrimbor, even into Gondolin. And Galadriel would also be Celebrimbor's aunt, making this love incestuous. #silmarillion #lordoftherings #hobbit #aragorn #galadriel edit tolkien books elessar earendil idril gondolin
